Yep, we've heard those stories, too. Let's face it, in a nation where home renovation long ago surpassed baseball as the Great American Pastime, kitchen nightmares are a dime a dozen — and anyone who's ever traded Formica countertops and a Harvest Gold fridge for soapstone and a stainless steel side-by-side knows exactly what we're talking about.
Before you build... Let a local firefighter do this project for you this season...
First, consider why you're building the fence. There are many valid reasons: to demarcate property lines, to gain privacy, to contain pets or kids, or keep them away from a pool. Once you determine the purpose, you should:
Use a circular saw to make cuts connecting the holes, as in photo 2. Begin each cut with a plunge cut just ahead of one of the holes, and about 1/2" off the center of the board width. To make the plunge cut, first set the depth of cut on your saw to 3/4".
This is a bathroom recently remodeled. We had to go through the floor in order to put more footers in the ground so that I could jack up the bathroom floor about two inches higher...
